Some people believe that the resurrection in Matthew 27:51-53 was a resurrection of Old Testament saints who were then raptured into heaven when Jesus ascended. However, other scriptures contradict this, and I believe there is a better explanation of what happened.

Jesus vs the Talmud
Jesus’s main critique of the Pharisees was that they were substituting God’s law with man-made traditions. The Pharisees were scapegoating laws in the Old Testament by reinterpreting certain verses, and these modifications are preserved in the Talmud. For example, they interpreted Deut 24:1 to allow for “any cause” divorce or adding “hate your enemies” to love your neighbor in Lev 19:18. Jesus, of course, corrected them in Matt chapter 5:31-32 & 5:43-48, as well as Matt 19 & Luke 10:25-37.

Some people debate whether to refer to the Messiah as Jesus or Yeshua (or Yahshua). Anyone who says you can’t call him anything other than Yeshua/Yahshua says he doesn’t respond to prayers from people who call him different names from other languages. I’m pretty confident that when Greek believers in the 1st Century prayed in the name Iēsous (“Jesus”), they achieved the same results that Hebrew- and Aramaic-speaking Jews achieved with Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ). Otherwise, the Bible would have said you can only say Yeshua.
