A curious question about Joseph’s dream of the stars (Gen 37:9-10). There are 11 stars instead of 10 even though Benjamin hadn’t been born yet. One might wonder, does this apply to Dinah or Benjamin?

120-Year Lifespan in Genesis 6:3
Many theologians and such throughout the years have interpreted Gen 6:3 to mean that humans only have 120 years to live, however, many post-flood people lived way longer than that, Terah: 205 (Gen 11:32), Abraham: 175 years (Gen 25:7), and Isaac: 180 years (Gen 35:28). What does this mean?

Abraham had 8 sons, Ishmael from Hagar, Isaac from Sarah, and 6 sons: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah, all from Keturah, his 2nd wife after Sarah died. There is a blessing for all of Abraham’s children but the special everlasting covenant will go to Isaac only because this promise was for Sarah’s son with Abraham and she only had one son.

Oftentimes people will use the phrase sodomy in reference to same-sex intercourse and sodomite in reference to those that engage in it. Let’s make a note that Sodom and Gomorrah were guilty of far more than just that. Sodom and Gomorrah are mentioned in Ezekiel 16:49 for various sins like pride and abusing the poor. In Jeremiah 23:14 they are compared to the sins of priests in pre-exile Israel who committed adultery and idolatry. In Matthew 11:24 Jesus even compares his generation of Jews to Sodom and says they are more stubborn and hard-hearted. Therefore, Sodom and Gomorrah were guilty of more than just sexual sin.
